Windows Firewall Can’t Turn On

Suddenly your PC network can’t acces connection LAN in your small office or your shared folder are disabled.  How to resolve this problem to make your PC run normally, you just follow this step :

Windows XP

  1. click start Windows
  2. click run
  3. then type netsh wincsock reset
  4. restart your PC

Vista

  1. Click Start –> Accessories –> Right Click at Command Prompt–> run as administrator
  2. type netsh winsock reset –> enter
  3. restart your PC

Now you can turn on your firewall. I don’t know why we must type netsh winsock reset. With the research this is the answer :

ntesh winsock reset is useful command that you can use in Microsoft Windows to reset winsock catalog back to default setting or clean state. You can try this if you are having following Internet access or networking problems but still failing to resolve the problem after trying all other suggestions.
